If you’re an aspiring writer, a yoga teacher ready for more students. If you have an online business or you are an employee ready for a promotion; the struggle is real.
You know that you ‘should’ do certain things to show the world that you are good at what you do, really good, but, you don’t act. There is this odd pressure, mostly from yourself, and you tend to get tensed and slightly cranky perhaps when people enquire about your progress.
Sounds familiar?
The act of non-action
Do you keep catching yourself at procrastination?
Some forms of postponing are brilliantly hidden in having the need for extra courses first to ‘get better’ or even the need to have certain equipment first. Or, this pandemic needs to be over first. Fact is, it is all a form of non-action.
And that makes perfect sense! As, the non-action is the safer option!
If you don’t act, nothing can go wrong 🙂 !
But when you put yourself out there and expose yourself?
Oh la la, there is a risk that people will disapprove of what you are doing.
What if it’s not good enough?
What if it all fails?
Again, non-action here feels like the safer path because we avoid potential future pain. However, if it really was the safer option, why do you still feel tension, frustration and a sense of dissatisfaction?
Explore the struggle
This is where meditation can come in. To really explore the struggle from all sides, to observe what is going on in your mind and to really be in the present moment. An opportunity to be honest, in the kindest way, with yourself and to ask yourself what you are so afraid of.
The non-action path is the right path if you can be completely at peace with the outcome of that path. Drop all action and be fine with that. If this is the case, there is no need for further frustration, is there?
But when there is even the slightest form of unease when you follow this path, you need to rethink the procrastination. And maybe, just maybe go all in and put yourself out there!
Be gone with the self-doubt and playing it small!
I’m happy to guide you with personal mindset coaching when you are at this point right now and want to go next level as this world right now can be seriously overwhelming. To decide to take action is one thing but to actually begin is another. ‘Where to start’, is a question I hear a lot. Contact me via the form and let’s see how we can work together!
