When you sit down for a moment, you will notice just how busy you keep yourself. We are all constantly distracted. And when we want to avoid emotional pain for example, we will make sure to come up with ‘something’ not to face the pain. The interesting part is that when you can hold all of your attention to the present moment, allowing the emotions, thoughts and feelings to be there, you will settle the mind. And thus feel better. Allowing whatever arises to be there, not suppressing anything. It is in those moments that we gain Insight into what is ‘really’ going on. Anger might hide sadness, guilt might hide a harsh inner critic, and so on. Meditation can truly support you in getting to know yourself better and understand what blocks you. #meditationmadeeasy #meditationteacher

Self-discipline = You take charge of yourself. You fully understand that You are respsonsible for your actions. It’s not because something stressful happened at work that you have to give up on your routines. Self-discipline is about making decisions, the ‘right’ decision for You, at that given time. Meditation asks for self-discipline but it will also boost self-discipline! Pro-tip: Start with just 5 minutes a day.

At the start of 2025, you may let go of the constant and agressive need for self-improvement. We are all constantly messing with our own heads. Telling ourselves what we should and should not feel. How we should act and react.
Striving and trying to be the perfect human. Working so hard on ourselves.
Goals, lists, to do’s. Which is… totally exhausting. “Let go of the person you believe you need to be.” I have repeated this sentence every single day on the Xmas Retreat last week.
Magic happens when you fully grasp the words. Nothing wrong with setting intentions and goals, on the contrary, they are a tool for conscious living. The thing is that it may be a soft and gentle process.
Tuning into the present moment and fully accepting ‘what is’ before even thinking of possible change. One way of coming into the present moment is by attenting to the breath. So simple and so profound.
Breathing happens in real time… Set your timer, today, have a seat or lie down, and fully attend to your own breath. Every time you wander off, being the attention back. Let go of the urge to control the breath, let the body breathe, it knows how, it really does.
